ANTALYA AİRPORT
SOCIAL LOUNGE

Interior design & Project Management

Designed as a dedicated social and relaxation space for airport personnel, this project at Antalya Airport offers a welcoming retreat from the demanding pace of daily airport operations.

The design is guided by a simple yet essential idea: creating an environment where employees can step away from their responsibilities, unwind, socialize and recharge during their breaks.

A contemporary architectural language is softened by natural materials, comfortable furnishings and carefully integrated greenery. A rhythmic sequence of arches brings character and spatial continuity to the interior, while generous windows allow natural daylight to animate the space and establish a connection with the surrounding landscape.

Deep blue and warm neutral tones define the furniture palette, complemented by textured stone flooring, timber details and sculptural ceiling fans. These elements create a balance between contemporary simplicity and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

Different seating arrangements accommodate individual relaxation, informal conversations and social interaction, allowing employees to use the space according to their needs throughout the working day.

The architectural design and project supervision were undertaken by architect Betigül Özker, with a particular focus on combining functional planning, visual harmony and the everyday comfort of airport personnel.

More than a conventional staff lounge, the project was conceived as a place where architecture contributes to employee well-being, offering moments of comfort, connection and renewal within a busy operational environment.

Because the quality of a workplace is also defined by the spaces where people take a moment for themselves.
